Not a biography.
A system trace.

Markus started with code when code still required discipline. The work moved from assembler and BASIC to hotel systems, internet booking, enterprise procurement, charging infrastructure, smart grids and battery storage. The common line is simple: structure chaos until it works.

1966
Born in Haslach, Germany.
1984
Early software work: word processor on Z80. Discipline learned at machine level.
1986
StarBase database system. Early work on usable software frameworks.
1990
SOFA / OTHELLO hotel PMS: front-office software first in Turbo Pascal, later rebuilt for Windows and SQL.
1997
One of the early internet-based hotel booking engines, with thousands of contracted hotels across Europe.
2001
M-Exchange AG: business procurement systems deeply integrated into SAP, including aftersales purchasing processes for enterprise clients.
2015
Exit from M-Exchange activities and shift into electric mobility, startup training and infrastructure.
2016
Start of EV charging infrastructure business.
2020
Corsica: electric vehicle fleet integration, charging infrastructure, smart charging, payment and airport mobility hubs.
Today
Battery storage, energy infrastructure, strategic partnerships, Ukraine technology, drones and European infrastructure projects.

The work.

The focus changes. The operating logic does not. Code. Contracts. Capital. Infrastructure. Distribution. Execution.

Software

From assembler to systems.

Early coding, database systems, hotel PMS, booking technology, enterprise procurement and integration with large corporate processes.

Mobility

EV charging on islands.

Corsica and Mallorca showed the logic: tourism pressure, rental cars, airports, grids, solar, payment and operational discipline.

Infrastructure

Battery storage and grids.

The next bottleneck is storage. Charging was the visible layer. Batteries are the control layer.

“The beauty of code is that a few lines reveal the quality of the whole system — and sometimes the mind behind it.”
Public record

Public proof, not empty positioning.

The thought-leadership claim has to be backed by visible work: code since 1984, hotel systems before internet booking became obvious, SAP procurement, EV fleets from China to Corsica, charging networks, Mallorca infrastructure, Utility Days Amsterdam 2025 and stages from Dubai to IAA.

Book speaker

Signature keynote: from Z80 code to smart grids.

A 20 to 45 minute founder keynote based on the Amsterdam Utility Days story: disruption, the beauty of code, never giving up, learning from failure, and why AI, energy, batteries, cars, payments and infrastructure now belong in one operating system.

Private access.
Not public noise.

Access is not a ticket. It is proximity, qualification and trust. The operating principle is simple: names, rooms and counterparties are disclosed only when the mandate requires it. The network is not the product. The outcome is.

Selective

Qualified entry only.

Private European circles, Cannes positioning, energy infrastructure, defense technology and founder-level deal flow are handled discreetly. No public spectacle.

Direct

Founder-led proximity.

Markus is the visible point of control. Meetings are direct, practical and based on substance, not status signalling.

Controlled

Access after context.

For investors, operators, procurement teams and selected guests. Relevant people are introduced only after qualification and mutual clarity.

Contact.

Speak clearly. Bring substance. A good conversation is always worth time.
